With the election up for grabs and perhaps even slipping towards Trump, Kamala Harris needs an October surprise. What major last-minute events might tip the election her way?
I was a union blue collar worker for 28 years plus being a local D campaign mgr. I fought the neolib unfriendly takeover of the D party in the late 1970s. Which then dumped the New Deal, abandoned labor, and became corporate allies.
Ever since I've been asking apologists for the Ds why they support neolib economics. A system defining away devastation of human and natural resources as 'externalities'--an econ term for irrelevant. A system that must have endless growth, which implies belief Earth's resources are infinite. It also considers us workers not as human beings, but as easily replaced biomachines rapidly becoming obsolete.
Now add asking how the D faithful can possibly support neocons. Look up PNAC, the neocon tractate developed during the Bush II years. They're all for a unipolar empire and all for the endless and expensive wars needed to maintain that illusion. Dick Cheney trained neocons run Biden's Dept. of State. Cheney most probably didn't endorse Harris because Trump is so awful; the Rs haven't objected to narcissist power mad multimillionaires since the Progressive era of the 1920s. Rather that he's sure Harris will keep neocons at State. Whereas Trump and his loyal cult cadres are unpredictable.
Who is she other than the above? Part of the D elite. They are fine with diversities of race, gender, or sexual orientation--as long as you have the requisite Ivy League credentials or the equivalent. Whatever distinguishes you from the inferior masses, we who were defined by H. Clinton as "a basket of deplorables." Their arrogance and sense of superiority so well described in Halberstam's //The Best and the Brightest// about the egregious errors in Vietnam. Currently B & B 2.0.
That's who she is. An empty suit wearing a friendly mask behind which the neolib/neocon horror intends to go on.
I wanted to wait until comments on this post were done. To avoid being distracting or a disservice to you. This isn't exactly relevant; more an FYI. The alleged Putin-Trump connection is a Dem red herring. Should have been clear from what Robert Mueller reported, yet this is still repeated as fact. Check out the in-depth investigative reporting by the late Robert Parry and others at Consortium News. Also similar by Robert Scheer et al. at ScheerPost. As media lefties, in no way pro-Trump. I roll my eyes every time I read or hear Dem MSM propaganda. However, the neolib-neocon demonic alliance and the silenced majority working class are waaay more important, therefore my priority to write about.
I'm putting this link in the comments section -- it goes to the newsletter of Higher Ed Labor United, addressed to all workers in the higher ed industry. Hoping for an October surprise.
yep, too late is right. Total disaster heading our way.
Good idea! the Democrats are rather short of policies that would help the working class, and people can see this.
Too late. Harris’s closing argument is “Trump is a fascist.” That’s true, but who is she? What does she stand for?
